Statement
My art is a medium for portraying spiritual themes. Every
painting has a body and a soul, the form and the content.
The body is the paper and the paint; the soul is the theme
being represented. A beautiful body is not enough to evoke
an intellectual or emotional response with any true spiritual
value. Without the body, the soul has no channel through which
to express itself in the world. The textures and colors in
my paintings create a visual form which is aesthetically pleasing.
The visual attracts and draws interest to the theme revealed
in the painting. Through the parables and the esoteric teachings
of chassidic philosophy I seek to portray a deeper perspective
on life and the essence of being Jewish. |
